Don’t Be Left In The Dark About Dry Eye Disease!

The Music City Dry Eye Symposium (MCDES) will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Nashville, TN. MCDES will focus on the current and emerging data on the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease (DED). The symposium will bring together subject matter experts among ophthalmologists and optometrists to educate fellow eye doctors about one of the recently discovered causes of dry eye.

The symposium will discuss how the elimination of biofilm can profoundly impact the severity and chronicity of blepharitis and subsequent dry eye.

Educational Objectives

  • Evaluate the current and emerging data on the diagnosis and role of imaging in dry eye disease
  • Review how different strains of bacteria affect dry eye disease development, the biofilm, and patient presentation
  • Evaluate the different artificial tear formulations ( i.e.: preserved vs preservative-free; active and inactive ingredients; lipid enhanced vs. non-lipid enhanced; and the role of inactive ingredients in optimizing delivery and retention time)
  • Describe the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of inflammatory dry eye disease
  • Explain new and emerging treatment options and protocols for dry eye disease

Target Audience

Ophthalmologists and optometrists who are interested in better understanding dry eye and in mastering improved treatment techniques for their patients with lid margin disease.
